Tunic Review

Tunic completed. *Puzzles puzzles puzzles puzzles* Puzzles puzzles, puzzles? Puzzles. What, gameplay, balance, pacing? No just puzzles and occasional surprisingly intense boss fights. Listen if you liked Obra Dinn I would rate this at 10 Obras out of Dinn so you basically owe it to yourself to play it. Just accept that once you get to the very very very very very very very very very very end. You're gonna google the last couple puzzles that you didn't quite grasp for one reason or another. It's fine when someone makes ten bajillion puzzles they're allowed a few unintuitive bits.

I love Voices of the Void, that's why I need to wait for 1.0

VOTV dropped it's 0.6 update about 10 days ago, as soon as I realized I was reading the changelog and eager to dive in. Then, as I got overwhelmed by new features, changes, and secrets or news before I even clicked download, I was reminded why I don't touch games in early access anymore. So, let me go on a spiel for a moment here.  The usual cycle of an early access game is one I'm all too familiar with, them being all the rage on steam for the longest time. Tiny Tank Review

Bad things come on small treads Two caveats for this review, one is that there may have been emulator fuckups making some mechanics slightly harder to execute than intended, and two was some aggressive savestating in the 2nd half. But my Ghosts n Goblins rule applies, I beat everything at least once flatly. This game is relatively unassuming at first, a little generic in it's humour and pretty dull gameplay. But a fast enough pace, catchy soundtrack, and enjoyable in-game radio discussions help make it a relatively breezy playthrough... Then you hit the dancing robots, and the game wants you do to some stuttered movement thing that, I'll be honest, straightup doesn't work properly. Then you find yourself in a mine and factory, jumping between magnetic platforms. Xenoblade Trilogy Reviews

Finally finished the main story of Xenoblade Chronicles, Definitive. It's a solid JRPG. Combat takes a while to click but when it does it's satisfying enough. Just make sure to pace yourself with those sidequests to avoid burnout. Story is very solid, though I would say nothing groundbreaking. That said, the characters are wonderful, world is imaginative, and story beats memorable. What more could you want? Well you could want a better way to handle sidequests than manually adjusting a clock hour by hour from random spawns but that's what sequels are for Xenoblade Chronicles 2 completed. Not counting the standalone DLC thing. In the end, it really only stands as a sequel to the first. I wouldn't recommend it alone, as the first in my eyes is far more impactful to play through.
